4th of July 2010 - Grandpa and Grandma Visit!

Dewy's parents came to visit for the 4th of July. We had such a wonderful time seeing them and I'm pretty sure they enjoyed seeing their precious grandchildren :) Dewy was able to take the week off of work and the weather was beautiful.

  • We spent a day out in Sequim visiting Uncle Rodger and Aunt Kay. It was great to see their new home, take a nature walk, and eat lots of delicious food.
  • We spent part of a day at Mulkiteo beach where the boys had a great time finding tiny crabs.
  • Grandma took Jackson and Cohen to Build-A-Bear. Jackson picked a black Darth Teddy and Cohen built a brown Batman Teddy.
  • We took Lynn and Duane to a taco feed at the Jones' house. It was fun introducing them to a bunch of our friends from church. Jackson loved dressing up in Nolans costumes, Cohen liked eating raspberries, and Grandpa discovered that Shelby wasn't too sure about his scratchy goatee!
  • On the 4th we had a coul-de-sac BBQ with our neighbors Wes and Shanna. We had a great time watching the kids play with sparklers and were amazed by the neighborhood fireworks. So fun!!

The Mitchell's Visit!!

In June Dewy's cousin Stephanie and her family took an adventurous road trip. We were so excited to find out that they were making a trip to Seattle to visit us!! They arrived on a Friday evening and left Sunday morning. We had a great time visiting Pike Place Market and the Space Needle, grilling up some fresh seafood, and watching the kids play. They got to meet Shelby for the first time and see our new home here in WA. Thank you so much for coming all that way!!

Dexter, such a fun guy!!

Oregon Coast To See Grandma Jo!

In the middle of June we met up with my brother Joel and his family at the Oregon Coast. It was our first trip to visit my Mom. We were able to get hotel rooms right next to Mom's little apartment which is walking distance from the bay. Upon arrival Friday afternoon, Mom surprised us with a wonderful h0mecooked meal. Baked beans, meatballs, roasted chicken, and fresh veggies! We took a short walk down to the bay where the kids played in the sand and water. It was freezing out, but the cool weather did not slow the kids down one bit. Friday night we prayed for sunshine and Saturday turned out beautiful. Sunshine and blue skies, thank you Jesus!

Saturday we visited the Newport aquarium, ate a wonderful seafood lunch, spent the afternoon at the beach (Seal Rock), and that evening topped it all off with a pizza dinner in celebration of Jaden and Teagans 8th Birthday!! One of the highlights for me was watching Jaden and Teagan run to Grandma Jo when they first saw her. I believe it had been about two years since they last saw her. It was a great trip and we look forward to future trips to the beautiful Oregon Coast.

Rice Cereal!

Shelby's eating rice cereal for dinner. The boys don't think it's fair that sissy gets to eat cereal for dinner while they have to eat "normal" dinner food :) She seems to really like the cereal. Maybe next week we will try some bananas.

Hot Tubbing

The cabin we stayed at for Papa Doug's Birthday celebration had a hot tub. The kids had so much fun playing in the water! I kept making them get out and "cool off" every 15 minutes or so. Didn't want their little bodies to fry!

Cohen was SO excited to get in.

And then decided he wasn't so sure.

And then he decided he definitely did
not like the hot tub!
