Amanda's Surprise!

We had the wonderful privilege of flying to LA to surprise my sweet friend Amanda for her 30th birthday. Her amazing husband Matt planned the whole thing and made all the arrangements for our family to fly to LA, stay in a hotel for two nights, and travel around in a rented minivan. Amanda was TOTALLY surprised and we had a wonderful time playing on the beach, eating yummy food, and getting to know Amanda's family better. I'm so blessed to have Amanda in my life and even though we have lived apart longer then we ever lived close together, I know she will be a life long friend. Love you Amanda and thank you Matt for making this whole trip possible!!!

Oliver running from the waves!!
Notice our two year old being knocked down by the wave :(
He was having SO much fun up to this point.

Jackson - Spring 2010

Jackson is going on four and a half now. He loves being outside, riding his bike, playing with older kids, reading bible stories, watching movies, eating sweets, and staying clean and dry! He's a wonderful big brother and it is such a blessing to watch him interact with his little brother and sister. He learns things quickly and easily and has a very good memory. Most days he still takes a nap, but as you can see above when we skip nap he will fall asleep in the funniest places and times! Jackson likes to dress exactly the same as everyone around him. If Cohen has long sleeves then Jackson will go change his shirt so that he has long sleeves too. If Daddy has on shorts Jackson will go change into shorts. If he is the only one to have a pocket on his t-shirt he'll run up and change his shirt. It's kind of funny, but between wanting to dress like everyone else, and his need to be clean and dry he probably changes his clothes five times a day. Funny kid!

Cohen - Spring 2010

Our little Cohen is two and a half now. He is still our funny little guy and loves to make us laugh. He wants to do everything his brother does and play with everything his older brother has. Being two is challenging for our little Co-ster. Sharing is hard, wanting the toy older brother has is hard, time out is hard, and saying sorry is VERY hard. I can't forget to mention that sharing a room with older brother is probably the hardest. Although I think that one is hardest on Mommy and Daddy! We recently started putting Cohen to bed in the pack-n-play in a different room. Once they are both asleep then we move Cohen back into his bed. Bedtime is much easier now and both boys are getting the sleep they need. Cohen loves riding his bike, movie night, playing with trains, holding baby sister, and eating snacks. Cohen is almost potty trained, but we still have some work to do ;)

Here are some of the funny ways Cohen (and Jackson) say things.

Han-gi-bur = Hamburger
Ska-betti = Spaghetti
Back-sit-ball = Basketball
Sizzy = Sissy
Shear-re-al = Cereal
Mr. Judah = Ms. Judy (his Sunday school teacher)
Sit on Daddy's soldiers = Sit on Daddy's shoulders
Old McDonalds = McDonalds

Shelby - Spring 2010

Shelby will be 6 months old this month! She is SO much fun, we love her to pieces. Mommy thinks she looks like her Daddy, her Daddy thinks she looks like her Mommy, and most everyone else thinks she looks like her brothers. She can roll over from her stomach to her back, but I have yet to see it. She sleeps through the night about three nights a week and the other nights she gets up once usually with a dirty diaper. She's a good napper, very smiley, and loves her brothers. The boys adore her and love to help Mommy take care of baby sister. They will talk to her, sing to her, roll her over, bring her toys, and tickle her tummy. We'll probably start rice cereal sometime this month and I'm pretty sure her bottom two teeth will break through the skin any day now.

Look at those smiles!

So precious.

Although Shelby doesn't cry during bath
she always has this surprised look on her face!

So Funny!

This makes me laugh!!

Bikes!

Jackson learned to ride his bike! He went straight from the glider bike (no peddles) to riding his pedal bike without training wheels. Now Cohen is riding the glider bike even though his little legs barely tough the ground! They both LOVE to be outside riding, especially when Daddy rides too!

This is "Sissy" waiting patiently in the stroller,
while brothers ride their bikes!
