Shelby's First Birthday!

Our little girl turned one!! I can't even begin to tell you how much joy our sweet little Shelby brings to our lives. She still thinks her brothers are the best, loves seeing her Daddy walk in the door, and her smile melts my heart. She say's Mama, Da-Da, and uh-oh. She signs "sleep", "thank you", and "hurt". She can point to her foot and is learning to wrinkle her nose. Mama loves her kisses and hugs. Two weeks after her birthday she started walking. Still prefers to crawl, but she can put a good three-four steps together. On the day of her birthday we had the neighbor kids over for cupcakes. Shelby really had no idea what was going on, but it was still fun to see all the kids doting over the Birthday Girl!

Cohen Turns Three!!

Calling all Super Hero's!! This year Cohen requested a Super Hero Birthday Party. All the kids dressed up in their favorite Super Hero costume. Cohen chose Superman, Jackson picked Spider Man, and everyone else was Batman! We eat sandwiches, wings, veggies, and yummy cake and ice cream. We were so thankful to have Papa and so many of our friends here to help celebrate our sweet little Cohen.

Soccer

Go "Black Thunder"!! Jackson just ended his first season of soccer! Dewy was able to coach and we had about four other kids from church on the team. We enjoyed going to practice every Friday afternoon and having games every Saturday. I was totally surprised by how well Jackson did. He was really aggressive and totally focused on the ball. Jackson's favorite part was "getting the ball in the net".

Jackson's First Day of Preschool!

Here is our sweet Jackson on his first day of preschool. He was a lot excited and a little nervous all at the same time. It's been a couple of weeks now and Jackson greatly enjoys going to school. His favorite part of school is "pet shop" (I'm not sure what that is). He also likes his new friend named Quinn, having a job, the share bag, and recess. Momma likes that he has some structure and social time. I also enjoy having some time alone with Cohen while Shelby is taking her morning nap.

Right before we left
Look at that smile!!

Upon arrival he started getting
a little nervous

Still feeling nervous :)

After class everything was
all good again!

Camping - Summer of 2010

Way back in February a friend of ours from church asked a small group of people if we all wanted to go camping. He had the place and date all picked out. We immediately called Sun Banks Lake and reserved a tent site for our little family of five. Dewy and I love camping, but never get it organized far enough in advance to actually take a trip. This was perfect! What made it even more perfect was about two weeks before we were gonna embark on our first family camping trip my sis-in-law called and asked if we wanted to go camping at Sun Banks. Crazy coincidence that her and Joel wanted to go to the very same place we were already going on the very same weekend!! So anyway, I'm happy to say that we finally went on a summer camping trip and were blessed to do so with five other families from church and my big brother and his family.

It ended up being quite a crazy trip due to so many children (21) and some crazy sickness that took out three of our adults. One sweet Momma was even taken to urgent care. We had record wind/dust storms and even a little rain. But praise the Lord everyone pulled together, wonderful memories were created, and all the kids has a BLAST!! Things were so crazy that I didn't even get any pictures until the very last day when everyone but our family had already left. Anyway, it was a good time and I can't wait to go camping again next summer.

The Dentist

We finally took the boys to the dentist. Something I've been putting off for quite a while now. We found a GREAT pediatric dentist in the same building as their pediatrician. They were not scared one bit and loved sitting in the big chair, wearing the funny glasses, and getting to watch a t.v. show while their teeth were cleaned. I can't believe I forgot the camera, but Dewy was able to snap a few photos with his phone.

Summer Swimming Lessons 2010

This summer the boys took swimming lessons for the first time. They both improved greatly over the course of two weeks. In the beginning Jackson hated getting his face wet and would get water up his nose every time he put his face in the water. By the end of two weeks he was able to float face down while kicking and splashing and NOT get water up his nose. Cohen learned how to blow bubbles in the water, kick his legs, and tolerate Daddy putting him all the way under the water. This was so much fun and we can't wait for next summers swimming lessons!

Looking like such a big boy

Cohen loved jumping in!

He also loved the toy boat!
